Will Jackson
President & Director of Sales
Will Jackson comes from a family of builders, carrying forward a legacy of hard work and integrity in construction and steel. With 28 years of industry experience, he leads NorthStar Steel with a focus on strong relationships, consistent quality, and delivering on every commitment. His leadership is built on integrity, expertise, and a dedication to getting the job done right.
For Will, success is about more than just the job—it’s about serving people well. He believes in executing with excellence and leading by example, ensuring that customers and team members always receive his best. Years of hands-on experience have built the expertise and insight that keep NorthStar moving forward.
Outside of work, Will spends his time with his wife, Liz, and their five children. His faith is the foundation of everything he does, and he’s actively involved in ministry, leading a discipleship group and the 94X initiative, which focuses on bringing faith into the workplace.
James Barnes
General Manager, Senior Project Manager, Lead Estimator, Material Acquisition
With over 30 years in the industry—including 15 in general contracting—James Barnes brings deep expertise and a hands-on approach to every project. As General Manager, Project Manager, and Lead Estimator, he ensures that projects are executed with precision, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
James has led major builds, from the OU Softball hitting facility to a secure, phased reconstruction of a downtown Tulsa credit union. His background as a VP of Operations and business owner gives him a unique perspective, allowing him to balance big-picture strategy with on-the-ground execution.
Outside of work, James and his wife, Kelby, have dedicated over a decade to foster care, adopting six children while raising one biological child. A lifelong sports fan, he follows Oklahoma Sooners Football and the OKC Thunder—though he originally cheered for the Chicago Bulls. When he’s not managing projects, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Jim Hanner
Steel Operations Manager
With more than 43 years in the steel building industry, Jim Hanner brings a wealth of hands-on expertise to the NorthStar Steel team. Since joining the company, he’s played a pivotal role in job site operations—leading crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and ensuring every project meets NorthStar’s high standards for quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Jim works closely with clients and subcontractors to deliver durable, high-performing structures. He’s also known for mentoring team members and upholding the craftsmanship that defines NorthStar’s reputation. Even after decades in the industry, Jim’s greatest motivation is the satisfaction of seeing a project come to life and knowing it will serve the community for years to come.
Born in Altus and raised in the Tulsa area, Jim has been married since 1987. He and his wife have two children and five grandchildren. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
